Count Downula is free. Use it, enjoy it, and know that it comes as is.

These terms apply to the Count Downula apps for macOS, iPhone and Apple Watch, and the website at www.countdownula.com, both made by Michael Lynn ("I", "me"). By downloading or using the app, or using the website, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use them.

Using the app

You may download and use Count Downula free of charge on any Mac, iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch you own or control, for personal or work use. Please don't sell it, or redistribute modified copies of it while presenting them as the official app.

The source code is published on GitHub. Any license file in that repository governs use of the source code itself.

Your content

The titles, notes and photos you add to Count Downula belong to you. They stay on your devices and, if you use iCloud, in your private iCloud storage. You're responsible for having the right to use any photos you add.

iCloud sync is provided by Apple under its own terms. I don't control it and can't guarantee that it is available or that changes reach every device right away.

No warranty

Count Downula is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. I don't promise that the app will be error-free, that every notification will arrive, or that it will keep working with future versions of macOS, iOS or watchOS.

Please don't rely on Count Downula as your only reminder for anything where a missed time could cause harm, such as medication, legal deadlines or travel connections.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, I am not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or opportunities, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app or website. Because the app is free, my total liability for any claim is limited to zero dollars, or the smallest amount permitted by applicable law.

Some jurisdictions don't allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limits, so some of the above may not apply to you.

The website

You may browse and link to this website freely. Please don't attempt to disrupt it, overload it or access it in ways it isn't designed for.

Names and marks

The Count Downula and Countdownula names and the fanged timer logo identify this app. Please don't use them in a way that suggests another product is Count Downula or is endorsed by me. Mac, macOS, iPhone, iPad, iOS, Apple Watch, watchOS and iCloud are trademarks of Apple Inc. Count Downula is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple.

Changes

I may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be posted here with its effective date. Continuing to use the app or website after a change means you accept the updated terms.
